Dawson and Joey are watching more movies but Joey has to leave as Bessie is due to give birth in like a week. Jen leaves as she thinks she is breaking up their ritual. They both end up leaving. Roll opening sequence.

Bessie is complaining about the baby insider her. Evelyn sees one of Jen's calendars and is unhappy about it but Jen says that it is art. At school Pacey tells Tamara they should go out for the weekend. Pacey tells Dawson about going to Province even though Tamara didn't exactly say yes. Pacey is paranoid about people finding out about it. However there is a stoner in one of the toilets.

Jen talks to Dawson about a rumour going round the school, Dawson rushes off to find Pacey. Jen works out that the rumour is true - it continues to spread round school. Dawson and Pacey trace it back to the stoner. Dawson tells Pacey to ignore the rumour and pretend that nothing ever happened.

In class jokes about the rumour continue. Later Pacey is sat on the dockside and is approached by Joey. She sits down and has a talk about life sucking. Dawson wakes Jen home and says she will see him tonight. Joey arrives home to find Bessie in the truck, the wheels are spinning. She tells Joey that she is in labour.

Bessie tells Joey they need to get to Dawson's to phone for an ambulance but there is only one way to get there - they spend some quality time rowing across the creek. They arrive at Dawson's and Dawson phones for an ambulance but it will take ages. Bessie starts shouting down the phone.

Pacey is waiting around to see Tamara. Tamara says they are doing one of the things that couples do - break up. Joey cannot get through to Bodie. Joey turns up next door to ask Evelyn to help Bessie give birth. Doug turns up and confronts Pacey about him making up all this relationship stuff with Tamara.

Dawson comes down with a camcorder to make a recording for Bodie. Bessie is not happy about Evelyn helping out. Pacey turns up at the town hall to see Tamara but her attorney stops him from talking to her. The birth begins while Joey watches on. At the town hall they begin talking about what is happening.

Pacey turns up in the court room and says that he made it up. Evelyn is saying that Bessie is fine but Jen points out there is a blood. Evelyn throws Dawson and his camcorder out. Joey has already left the room. Evelyn says she needs Jen to help her as there is more blood than she expected. Evelyn gets Bessie to repeat the Lord's Prayer while she continues to push.

Outside Dawson finds Joey sitting quietly. Joey says that she is worried Bessie is turning out like her mother which brings back old memories. Doug goes to talk to Tamara and apologises for Pacey's behaviour. However Tamara says that he has grown up. At the birth Jen spots the head emerging. Bessie says she is too tired but Joey comes in and takes her hand.

The baby is out and Evelyn hands the baby over to Bessie. Dawson is back with the video camera. Elsewhere Pacey goes to talk to Tamara. Pacey says that it will never happen again but Tamara says that there can be no further relationship - she is leaving Capeside. They hug and Pacey leaves.

Jen seems a little more upbeat when she talks to Evelyn before going to bed. Joey arrives to find Bessie and Bodie looking at the baby. Bessie gives her to Joey to hold. On the beach Pacey is walking along the sand. He watches Tamara as she turns off her light. He says goodbye to himself and walks off.
