Review
Saw this one coming a mile off. I think I mentioned
Kirsten's sister was a story line I thought would be
explored in one of the previous episode guides. That
she would have such a fitting storyline I could not
have predicted though. Interesting so where it goes,
unless of course it is not played out.
Ryan running to see Marissa. The slow motion was a
bit surreal but was acceptable I thought as you really
believed that he was doing it. The power of the emo
genre is all consuming.
I wouldn't say it has been one of the best episodes
but is slightly above average. The swingers party was
entertaining if not a bit predictable that it was one
however. Solid episode I have to say.

Hailey: "You guys are like, married"
Kirsten: "Well that was the idea when we had a
wedding"
Hailey: "No I mean like deeply, deeply, married"
Sandy: "No we are not in a rut. We are in a marriage"
Sandy: "I hate to deny the GPS lady because she

Kirsten: "I am swinging"
Seth: "Ok, I don't even know enough people to
cause this much damage"
Episode Guide
Marissa and Ryan arrive back from watching Master &
Commander. It is the day before New Years Eve. Marissa
is playful; Ryan suggests they should take it easy.
They kiss and Marissa says "I love you," but
Ryan doesn't repeat it. She freaks out, gets in the
car and drives off. Ryan goes in the pool house to find
someone else there saying it is her pool house.
Ryan goes that it is Hailey, Kirsten's sister who says
Kirsten doesn't know she is here. She tells him to go
sleep on the living room couch. Next morning Seth comes
down to find Ryan on the couch. Ryan tells Seth about
pool house. They go into the kitchen and tell Sandy
and Kirsten Hailey is here.
She walks up and says happy New Year. Kirsten says
she will make out the guest bed room. Hailey tells Seth
about the "I love you" thing. Oliver talks
to Marissa when she comes out of therapy. Oliver tells
her he is having a party and invites her. He lives in
the 4 Seasons apparently.
Hailey is picking out clothes for tonight and tells
Kirsten about a party but says she is boring. Kirsten
asks Sandy how he feels about partying after dinner.
Cuts to Marissa telling Ryan about the party Oliver
invited them to. Ryan refuses to go and says he will
stay here like the planned. He is still unable to say
it. That night he is stuck at home playing console games
with Seth.
Sandy and Kirsten head out to have some fun. Hailey
questions why Seth and Ryan are not dressed to go out
but Seth tells her they aren't going out. She seems
alarmed by this. Hailey convinces them to go by playing
on their insecurities. The open the door to go out and
Hailey's friends pour into the house and start trashing
the place.
Summer and Marissa arrive at the party at the 4 Seasons.
Summer goes on about how Seth is probably at home playing
console games. Anna is there already. Summer and Anna
talk about how they don't care where Seth is. Back at
the house Seth and Ryan walk around panicking. They
argue over who has to tell Hailey the party is over.
Sandy and Kirsten drive to the gentle hum of the navigation
system. Kirsten suggests that they need to take more
chances and Sandy agrees. Sandy decides to be adventurous
and turns left instead of right. Kirsten suggests they
skip dinner and go straight to the party. At the party
Oliver wonders where Ryan is and Marissa wonders where
Natalie is. Turns out she broke up with him.
Hailey is talking to someone in a room who she apparently
owes $3,000 to her. Hailey walks out but Ryan tells
her if she doesn't end this the cops will. Hailey suggests
they go talk about this. Meanwhile Sandy and Kirsten
arrive at the party, it seems pretty dead. I am going
to go ahead and guess that it is a swinger's party.
They talk about staying and Kirsten dares him to put
his watch in the bowl, he does so.
Hailey tells them to go into the pool house but when
they go in, she closes the door and locks it with them
inside. Seth starts to freak out as he is claustrophobic.
Sandy seems to be getting on with other women whereas
Kirsten is sitting alone. At the penthouse party a cute
guy smiles in Anna and Summer's direction. They go up
and ask him but he can't decide. Anna leaves for Summer
to take him. He introduces himself as Alex.
Marissa talks to Oliver about the "I love you"
incident. Sandy comes over to Kirsten and tells her
he is ready to go but Kirsten says she wants to stay.
Sandy says it is all about Hailey. Ryan and Seth are
lying on the floor of the pool house. Ryan asks Seth
how he knows if he loves Marissa. Seth is hyperventilating.
Some girls show up wanting to know there 'that bitch'
is. She unlocks the pool house and comes in asking for
help.
Hailey says unless they help her, the girl will tear
the house down. They shut off the power and tell everyone
the cops are coping so everyone leaves. Ryan rushes
off to find Marissa. At the swingers party they begin
making selections. Everyone gradually pairs off until
only Sandy and Kirsten are left. Sandy took his watch
out earlier. They seem to be in a good mood.
Ryan is struck on traffic. At the party Summer is talking
to Alex. Anna comes up to Marissa and tells her she
is leaving. Marissa and Oliver get talking about how
their dates aren't going to show up. Sandy and Kirsten
arrive back to find the house trashed. Kirsten questions
Hailey on what she did but Hailey seems unchanged. Sandy
goes into his bedroom to find a threesome going on.
Kirsten talks to Hailey about what is going on with
her life. Seth comes out with the trash and sees Anna
walking up. Ryan arrives at the hotel and tries to get
to the party in time. He races up the stairs with only
20 seconds to go. Marissa is pairing up with Oliver
but with seconds to go Ryan bursts though the door and
they kiss in the stroke of midnight.
Kirsten gets it on with Sandy. Summer leaves as she
realises she really loves Seth. Ryan finally says "I
love you," to Marissa.
