Review
31 seconds in. It was exactly 31 seconds in that it
became obvious Seth and Ryan were back there not to
recover the watch but to find Luke and Julie. Of course
I wasn't ready to burn all my bridges. I had the, I
was about to say, statement in case it wasn't, but the
O.C. rarely fails to disappoint in terms of predictability.
Anna leaving is quite a shocker. Especially as they
didn't do much dragging out of it, taking care of the
whole thing in situation. The emoness wasn't really
there but the odd tear featured on the show so not a
total loss. Out of interest, how cheap are these flights?
Then again anyone living in Newport has to be fairly
well off.
Overall for this episode, it was ok. The L.A. section
was a bit unoriginal and uninspiring but the Sandy /
Jimmy / Lighthouse storyline was getting interesting.
Bringing Caleb in put kind of a spoiler on it too. Ah
well, ok I guess. But could have been better.

Episode Guide
Ryan arrives with Seth at the Mermaid Inn. He had apparently
left his watch in Teresa's room. They are pointed to
room 204 and given the key. Seth tells Ryan that he
is finally free of women. Suddenly Luke emerges and
Julie soon follows him out attaching herself to his
lips. They duck behind a car and continue to watch.
Luke then jumps over a railing and heads off; Julie
goes back into the room. Roll opening credits. Next
morning Seth and Ryan talk about that happened and Ryan
says it has to end before Marissa finds out. In the
kitchen Jimmy comes in to see Sandy and tells him that
they are screwed in terms of the restaurant.
Sandy glances through the books to see how they blew
the budget while Kirsten opens a letter from Hailey.
She has a job and everything. Jimmy says he will interview
some designers but needs one cheap. Kirsten suggests
they use Julie. Jimmy tries to stop it but Sandy and
Kirsten pressure him into letting her do it.
Summer and Marissa are walking on the beach and Summer
tells Marissa to spend some time without a boyfriend.
Summer notices some TV stars on the beach and they go
over to say hi. Grady tells them they are on location
shooting scenes for the Valley (that's the name of the
show).
Later at school Summer and Marissa rush up to Seth
and Ryan and Summer tells them about meeting Grady bridges
and that they have been invited to his birthday party.
Julie looks over the photos of the Lighthouse and agrees
to do it.
Julie tells them $6,000 but Jimmy say's they don't
have that kind of money. Kirsten suggests she chips
in and Julie suggests Caleb chips in but Sandy says
no. They pressure him though. Ryan confronts Luke about
him and Julie. Ryan tells him he has to end it tomorrow.
Ryan arrives back to find Seth watching the Valley
on DVD and getting paranoid. Marissa turns up to speak
to Ryan and tells him that she is not going to L.A.
as she wants some time away from him. Next morning Ryan
tells Seth he isn't going so that Marissa will. But
Seth says that he has to go as he is asking Kirsten
and Sandy if they can.
Seth goes to ask Sandy and Kirsten but Sandy days no.
Ryan makes a few suggestions and they eventually get
talked round when Kirsten hears who it is. Kirsten asks
for an autograph from Grady. Ryan then goes to talk
to Marissa and talks her round too. Caleb overlooks
the restaurant designs and despite Sandy's efforts to
sabotage the meeting, Jimmy tries to talk him into it.
There is a suggestion the chef cooks for Caleb tonight
but he says he has a business meeting with a load of
magazine editors. Julie suggests it would be great free
publicity as these are the tastemakers and despite Sandy's
hesitations they are talked into it. Kirsten suggests
they host it at their place.
In L.A. the roads are gridlocked. Meanwhile Julie arrives
home and Luke confronts her but she starts kissing him.
She drags him inside and says they will talk after.
Back in L.A., they finally arrive at the party. Grady
drags the girls away leaving Seth and Ryan alone to
admire the stripers. They follow and find Grady introducing
them to 'Team Grady.'
Ryan phones Luke to ask him if he took care of it but
doesn't seem to get an answer. Next thing Ryan knows
he is staring into the face of one of the strippers
- and it's Hailey! Back at home, Julie rushes off and
shrugs off Luke's attempts to talk with her. At the
dinner everyone gives a speech and it seems to go down
well.
Ryan checks his voicemail on his phone and finds the
message from Ryan. He swerves the truck round and heads
in the other direction. In the kitchen Sandy tells Jimmy
they don't want to do this but Jimmy says this is all
he has. Sandy gets a call from Ryan telling him about
Hailey. Sandy tells them to get home.
Sandy tells Jimmy they will deal with Hailey tomorrow.
Sandy tells them they are having meatloaf tonight. Caleb
tells them to do something different but Jimmy takes
a stand and leaves. Meanwhile at the party Seth gets
talking to a stripper while Grady tells Summer he has
a new episode on tape.
Outside Sandy talks to Caleb and tells him Jimmy actually
went to find Hailey. In the car Grady and Summer watch
the video, Summer is just consumed with the show. Ryan
shows Seth, Hailey. They end up getting thrown out of
the club. Back at home Luke turns up outside and beckons
Julie to come out.
Grady continues to show Summer footage of himself.
Summer says she is bored but Grady puts on some music
- it is his band. Grady tries kiss her but she pulls
away. April, another of the Valley's stars turns up,
apparently they are dating (or were dating). Back at
the club, they get chucked out again along with Hailey.
Ryan squares up to one of the bodyguards who prepares
to get tough on Ryan but Jimmy turns up and points out
it would be a bad idea to hit a kid. Jimmy tells them
to head back and says he will give Hailey a lift. Jimmy
arrives back and Kirsten tells him the dinner went great.
Hailey follows him in and he says he picked her up from
the airport.
Julie comes outside and Luke says he is braking up
with her. He leaves and Julie phones Caleb and tells
him she is on for the date. Ryan and Marissa arrive
back and head into the pool house. Luck comes in and
tells Ryan he ended it but Marissa overhears. Ryan tries
to stop her but she runs out. Fade to black.
